In ordinary society, science is concerned with a systematic approach of observation and experimentation to understand the world around us. Buddha’s teachings show us how to understand the inner science of the mind. This morning workshop taught by Resident Teacher Gen Kelsang Wangpo will consider the scientific methods for training the mind taught by Buddha 2600 years ago. By gently training in the meditations that calm the mind, we gradually become more peaceful, confident and happy. With this positive nature, we can bring true benefit to the world around us.

Awaken Your Buddha Nature

Every living being has the potential to become a Buddha, a person who has overcome all limitations and developed their good qualities to their full potential. Lamrim, a Tibetan term that means stages of the path, is a special presentation of Buddha’s teachings that reveals the path to enlightenment. During the workshop, Gen Wangpo will offer an overview of Lamrim and explain how to train in the Lamrim contemplations and meditations. With this foundation, we can confidently take the next step forward in awakening our Buddha nature.
