Meditation and Modern Buddhism

This special course is open to everyone. We will look at what faith is and how we can live a better life when we have faith in our heart. We will also look at how faith is developed, as well as common misconceptions about it.
Although many people like the idea of faith, others believe that faith implies suspending disbelief or is somehow irrational. According to Buddhism, however, faith comes from personal experience of the practice of Buddha’s teachings, which are based on logic and reason. Our faith develops gradually over time in our hearts and gives rise to a wish to deepen our experience, as well as a joyous effort for more practice. Also, rather than fearing doubt, we use our doubts to actually help us go deeper into our understanding, and thereby increase our faith. With faith, everything is possible.
