Why do we become unhappy? Principally, the reason is that we do not get what we want. When reality is not the way we want, we tend to become upset. Our mental response to life is the reason we are unhappy. And, if we get angry that just makes everything seem more difficult. Far from protecting us from problems and conflicts, anger always makes our problems worse. In fact, anger is a huge obstacle to happiness.
In this course we will look at how to accept our conditions, even as we find practical solutions for our problems. Because problems arise every day, patient acceptance is the key to being able to enjoy a happy and peaceful life. Furthermore it gives us the skill to transform our problems and conflicts into the very means that empower us to improve our good qualities of love, compassion and wisdom. Finally, as one of the main practices of a bodhisattva, it is essential for being able to make great spiritual progress and actualize our potential for lasting happiness and enlightenment. This course will demonstrate how meditation and training our mind in daily life can help us cultivate patient acceptance and transform our life. Everyone welcome.
