In-Depth Study Program

Are you ready to deepen your practice and experience?

Introductory class: Feb 23 | 6-8pm

Unlike our weekly drop-in classes, the Foundation Program (FP) is an enrolled program designed for those with some experience of Kadampa Buddhism who wish to deepen their understanding through a systematic study of a text by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche.

When you join, you will experience the great benefits of being part of this study program and spiritual community. Through this, you can improve your good heart and your wisdom by going deeper with your study and meditation practice.

Class will meet each Sunday from 6 - 8:00pm, with breaks over the summer and holidays.

He not only challenges our entire understanding of the world, but also challenges us to transform ourself into the greatest being we can possibly become!Everyone, whether religious or non-religious, is looking for happiness all the time and wants to be free from problems and suffering permanently. We can fulfill these wishes through understanding and practicing the instructions given in this book.

There are weekly reading assignments of a few pages from the text, and the class includes discussions and meditations on the week’s readings.

Fee and more information

Cost: Foundation Program Membership is $75/month (12 months/year) and includes FP classes, unlimited GP classes, and half off special classes and retreats. 

Note: FP is not a drop-in class and enrollment is required. People are generally required to have attended GP (drop-in) classes for at least of 6-months to enroll.

Foundation Program Teacher

Resident Teacher Gen Tsoglam

Gen Tsoglam is an ordained Kadampa Buddhist nun and close disciple of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. She has been practicing and teaching under his guidance for over 20 years. Her teachings are heartfelt, practical, and presented with warmth, humor, and joy.

Gen Tsoglam has been Resident Teacher at several Kadampa Centers around the US and brings a wealth of experience. She has engaged in numerous meditation retreats, as well as teaching and skillfully guiding many retreats.

Gen Tsoglam teaches at the Center on Sunday Mornings, Monday Evenings, and the Foundation Program. She also teaches our branch classes on Tuesdays in The Heights and Wednesdays in The Woodlands, as well as retreats and special events throughout the year.
