Meditation and Modern Buddhism

Join us for Wishfulfilling Jewel, a traditional Buddhist prayer service for the development of spiritual wisdom in ourselves and in the world. Our National Spiritual Director, Gen Kelsang Rigpa, will begin with a brief introduction on the purpose of the gathering. This would be followed by chanting of traditional Buddhist prayers and mantras, accompanied by food offerings. The chanted prayers are in and of themselves a form of meditation, where we reflect on the teachings of the Buddha and generating positive intentions for themselves and all beings. The service would conclude with a dedication of merit, offering the positive energy generated to benefit all living beings. Finally, Gen Kelsang Rigpa will be available for some community time.
