This class includes clear, inspiring teachings and guided meditation on the death process, our own and others.

In this course, which is presented in two sessions, we will learn how we can face our own death as well as help those who are dying. Based on the book Living Meaningfully, Dying Joyfully by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche.

Teaching and Meditation | 10–11:15am
We are alive, therefore we will die. This is the simplest, most obvious truth of our existence, yet very few of us have really come to terms with this fact. Buddha gave extensive teachings on the death process, and on how to use this wisdom to help those who are dying and to live a more full and meaningful life ourself.

Guided Powa Practice | 11:45am–1pm
The practice of Powa is a traditional Buddhist ritual practice to transfer the consciousness of those who have recently died, or our own consciousness, to a pure land. Powa practice explains clearly how we can face our own death, and how we can help those who are dying. This is one of the kindest things we can do for ourself and for others.
