In this half-day course, we will learn the basics of Buddhist belief and meditation. These practical teachings are beneficial for everyone, from those wishing to improve their relationships or develop peace of mind to those who wish to follow a spiritual path to enlightenment. Some of the questions we will explore include:
• What are the core beliefs of Buddhism?
• What is the role of meditation and the mind in Buddhist practice?
• Who was Buddha Shakyamuni, and what is enlightenment?
• How can someone live a Buddhist way of life in today’s modern world?
This course is for anyone who is interested in learning about the origins, beliefs, and practices of Buddhism. Everyone is welcome; no experience is necessary. Come with lots of questions and an open mind to learn about one of the world’s most ancient and profound religions.
