Find the Class That is Right For You
Each week, we offer more than 7 classes, most of which are drop-in and suitable for all levels of practitioner.
Our 2 main weekly drop-in classes with our resident teacher, Gen Kelsang Wangpo, are on Sundays 10:00 - 11:30am and Mondays 7:30 - 9pm, both at our Center (1110 Lovett Blvd). These are the best place to start if those times work for you. They include a guided meditation and practical teaching. Gen Wangpo also teaches a class specific to meditation on Thursdays 7:30 - 8:45pm.
A simple 30-minute meditation (12:15 - 12:45pm) is also a great session to begin with if you’re looking to ease into meditation. These are offered on Mondays and Tuesdays, at our main Center. On Wednesdays we the lunchtime meditation that runs from 12:15 - 1pm
Our Saturday program includes monthly, beginners, half-day courses, which are ideal for making some headway into meditation. Saturdays also offer special one-time courses and retreats covering particular Buddhist themes — these are usually open to all levels of practitioner, but check each event’s page for details.
For those wishing to go deeper, by studying and practicing more systematically, KMC Houston offers the Foundation Program. This program requires enrollment and regular attendance.
We also offer regular chanted prayer sessions throughout the week, each comprising prayers and time for meditation. These are free of charge.
If you are interested in retreats, we offer events both in-house and off-site, away retreats.
